WHAT YOU WILL BE LEARNING

Paper 1 Christianity and the Synoptic Gospels

This module requires the study of the relevance and application to Christian moral behaviour , attitudes and lifestyles of the life, teaching and mission of Jesus as portrayed in the Synoptic Gospels. In each section of passages from the Synoptic Gospels, candidates will be required to demonstrate that they understand the importance which these have for Christians today.

Section A: The life of Jesus

Section B: Christian Life and mission – the example of Jesus

Paper 2 Affects of Christ it on Behaviour, Attitudes and Lifestyles.

This section of the specification is intended to provide an opportunity for the study of the ways in which aspects of personal and social life may be related to Biblical and moral teaching and Christian ethics. Candidates will also study the variety of opinions and practice between Christians, Churches and Christian organisations.

HOW YOU WILL BE ASSESSED

(a) Coursework 20%

(b) Examination 80%

There is one tier of entry accommodating those candidates who are capable of GCSE.

There is also provision made for students, who feel they may not gain a satisfactory grade, to enter the Certificate of Education through CCEA

CAREER OPPORUNTIES

Careers include: - Social work, nursing, teaching, ministry, management, administration, insurance, community work, journalism and the media.
