CCEA GCSE Syllabus

This specification adopts a modular structure and students are required to study four teaching and learning modules for the GCSE course. The modules are listed below.

Module 1 – Local & Global Citizenship

Module 2 – PSHE

Module 3 – Learning for Life and Work

Module 4 – Applying Learning for Life and Work (Coursework)

This GCSE consists of four modules which are practical and essential for students who wish to enter into the caring profession or into finance.

Below are listed the topics studied within the modules: -

Module 1: Local and Global Citizenship

  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Equality and social justice
  • Democracy in action

Module 2: Personal, Social and Health Education

  • Health and Drugs Education
  • Relationships and Sexuality
  • Financial Responsibility

Module 3: Learning for Work

  • Work in the Local and Global Economy
  • Personal Career planning
  • Enterprise and Entrepreneurship

Module 4: Applying Learning for life and work

This is an action base project whereby candidates engage in the following four activities

Activity 1: Introducing the Action Based Project

Activity 2: Planning and Sequencing the Action Based Project

Activity 3: Obtaining, selecting, presenting and interpreting information

Activity 4: Evaluating the Action Based Project and reviewing own learning and performance
