  • Tracey Watson, Leukaemia research scientist, - ran in Belfast City Marathon on 7th May as a member of the Red Heroes Team to raise money for NI Leukaemia Research Fund.
  • Megan Bothwell - former Integrated College Dungannon (ICD) Head Girl and Student Councillor, Megan Bothwell, will have the honour of carrying the Olympic torch in the run-up to the Olympics.Megan completed her studies at ICD at the end of the last academic year and is currently studying a foundation degree in Sports Studies at Southern Regional College, Newry. She hopes to return to ICD in September to undertake a placement two days each week in the PE Department working with ICD students and pupils from local primary schoolsDuring her time at ICD, Megan was very actively engaged in sport. She represented the College to All-Ireland Schools’ level at Cross-Country running, competed in Ulster Schools’ Finals in Athletics and captained a number of successful netball teams. Megan also won the Key Stage 4 Sports’ Student Award last year and was heavily involved in the College’s Primary Schools’ Outreach Programme.

  • Fionnuala Ross – Running for McNeese State University in Louisiana, America. Fionnuala ran a time of 35 mins and 18 secs in the 10,000m race to set a new NI record, breaking the old record which had stood for 8 years.Fionnuala enjoyed an extremely successful running career at ICD, where among her achievements were; winning the Senior Girls’ Ulster Schools 5000m Title, winning medals at Irish Schools’ Cross-Country and Athletics Championships and representing the Irish Schools Cross-Country team.Fionnuala continued this sporting excellence with high achievement in the classroom. After receiving 6A*, 3As and 1 B in GCSE, Fionnuala continued her studies at ICD achieving a Grade A and 2Bs in her A’ Levels and winning an Academic Scholarship to McNeese State University, Louisiana. She has been able to combine her love of running with her academic studies and she has been a valuable member of the University’s Cross-Country and Track teams over the past 3 years.


  • Jonathan Ferguson – awarded a scholarship to complete a Phd in Intellectual History at King’s College University, London.
  • Bernaldo Marime - received the CCEA Learner of the Year 2012 Award for Excellence in Occupational Studies. Pictured below, Bernaldo is congratulated on his Celebrating Achievement award by CCEA Acting Chair Helen McClenaghan. Bernaldo completed his Occupational Studies qualification in Technology and Innovation at South West Regional College. A successful boxer, Bernaldo is training hard for a range of competitions whilst undertaking a two-year training programme in carpentry and joinery at South West Regional College.

  • Thomas Fitzpatrick graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology with a BSc in Logistics & Supply Chain Management. He is continuing his career as an officer in the Irish Army.
