Technology & Design

Key Stage 3
Technology and Design is compulsory for students at K.S.3. During this time students will engage in stimulating activities designed to capture students’ interests and challenge them within a safe environment. All students will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in the following areas:

Mechanisms Electronics Pneumatics ICT (including Computer Control) Graphical Communication Health & Safety

Students will work with a range of materials such as wood, plastics and metal and will have gain become familiar with various manufacturing techniques using tools and machinery. These will include : pedestal drill, milling machine, Centre Lathe, Band facer, Buffer, Box pan folder, Hot wire line bender, Guillotine Notcher, Hagner etc.
