Technology and Design is developed principally
through designing, which includes the manufacture of products of a technological
nature. It has strong links with other subject areas, especially science
and mathematics. Technology and Design makes a major contribution to
the curriculum by providing students the opportunity of designing and
manufacturing their own product. This is what makes Technology so exciting
as there is always something different happening, no day is the same
as the last….. no lesson the same as the other. Throughout this
progression, students will be encouraged to adopt all safe working practices
when working within this manufacturing environment.
The Technology suite consists of two system rooms equipped with computers and pneumatic installation, and two well resourced workshops as shown below.
