International Students and their experience in ICD

Lukas Sokolovas, YEAR 8 (Lithuania)

Hello! My name is Lukas. I am 12 years old and I’m from Lithuania. When I arrived in Northern Ireland I went to Dungannon primary School to P7. Now I study t integrated College Dungannon, a very big school with lots of clubs at lunchtime and after school. On my first day at school I was a bit scared because I didn’t know where I should go and I didn’t have any friends. Staff and older students helped me find my way in school. Now I have many friends and I attend the Games Club, Hot Chocolate Club and Connecting Classrooms Club. I also like the canteen, the library and the Computer rooms. I’m really enjoying my time at ICD.

Labas! Mano vardas yra Lukas. Man 12 metu ir aš esu iš Lietuvos. Kai as atuykau i Šiaures Airija aš ejau i Dungannon Primary School i P7. Dabar aš mokinuosi Integrated College Dungannon, tai yra didele mokykla, yra daug klubu per pietus ir po mokyklos. Pirma diena mokykloje buvau šiek tiek išsigandes todel kad nežinojau kur eiti ir neturejau draugu. Mokytojai ir klasiokai padejo man ir parode kur eiti. Dabar aš turiu daug draugu ir lankau žaidimu kluba, karsto šokolado kluba ir Connecting Classrooms kluba. Man taip pat labai patinka valgykla, biblioteka ir kompiuteriu klases. Man labai patinka mokintis ir leisti laika Integrated College Dungannon.

Hello! My name is Arek and I’m 11 years old. I’m from Poland. When I arrived in Northern Ireland I went to St. Patrick’s Primary School to P6. This year I started studying in Integrated College Dungannon. Our school is really good. I really like the canteen, the library and the computers room. Teachers are very nice because they don’t shout at us all the time. I have made many good friends. I also play for the school football and rugby teams. In September I was the student of the month. I’m very happy in ICD.

Mam 11 lat pochodze z Polski.Kiedy tutaj przyjechalem poszedlem do Patrick’s Primary School.W tym roku zaczelem uczyc sie w Integrated College Dungannon.Nasza szkola jest bardzo dobra.Bardzo lubie stolówke, biblioteke i pokój komputerowy.Sa tam mili nauczyciele poniewaz nie krzycza na uczniów.Poznalem wielu dobrych przyjaciól.Gram takze w szkolnej druzynie pilki noznej i rugby.We wrzesniu bylem uczniem miesiaca. Jestem bardzo szczesliwy w Integrated Dungannon College.

Hello! My name is Valentina. I come from Bulgaria. I’m 11 years old and I’m in Year 8. I came to Northern Ireland on the 21st August, 2007 and I started studying at the Integrated College Dungannon on the 1st September, 2008. I really respect teachers and staff. I like going to EAL classes because my teacher is very good and nice. I love running and I do Cross Country in ICD. I won a medal because I came in first place together with my friend. I’m really enjoying my time at ICD.
