Art and Design Pupils from I.C.D., Windmill Primary and Dungannon Primary were recently involved in an exciting workshop as part of the Dungannon Arts Festival. The work produced tackles the important theme of ‘Preserving our Environment’ and is on exhibition at Ranfurly House. The multi-media work produced embraces a wide range of techniques including painting, collage and stencilling. Mr. Coyle would like to thank Sarah McKernan, Katherine Paisley, Dion Carroll and Grace Kerr for helping with the workshops.
Four of our 6th Form students were recently involved in a professional Art exhibition showcasing the work of a number of local Artists. The pupils involved were JB Murray (work pictured below), David Maye, Elsie Cooke and Paul Cummings. This was an excellent achievement for the pupils involved and a great opportunity for them to display the outstanding ability and hard work throughout the year.
Throughout the past few weeks the Art Department have been running a raffle in an attempt to raise funds for new materials and equipment. The prizes were a massive Easter hamper packed with chocolate, a great 51 piece Art Set, and an Easter egg. The draw took place this week. First place went to Connie Barenskie, second was taken by Tiernan Gribbin, whilst Andrew Stafford won the third placed prize. Mr. Coyle would like to thank everyone who supported the competition by buying a ticket as we managed to raise a fantastic £107.
On Thursday 11th December, eight yr 10 pupils accompanied Mr. Coyle to Manor Court where they were invited to paint Christmas scenes on the windows. Photos are available to view on our Art and Design pages. The students, all very talented artists, produced some vivid illustrations that really manage to capture the festive feeling. They all represented the college commendably. Mr. Coyle would like to thank the students listed for their help. They were Ethan Carroll, Michael Jurkowski, Niamh McElroy, Marcela Janekova, Kerry-Anne Wright, Cassandra Brandao, Connie Barenskie, Winnie Yau andMegan Lee.

poster design competition for the school play. There were some outstanding
entrants across years 8, 9, and 10, particularly from Nicola Devlin and
Alice McCool, who came third and second respectively. The winning poster
(shown below) was designed by Cassandra Brandao of 10C, who produced a
vividly coloured painting of a school bus embarking upon its journey.
Well done to all entrants, and a special congratulations to Cassandra.
