Athletics 05/06

Kevin McCool, Ulster Champion May 2006

At the recent Ulster Schools Athletics Championships Kevin McCool became the first ICD student to win a track event. Running in the Junior Boys 1500m Kevin ran the perfect race, taking the lead on the final bend to win in a time of 4mins 33seconds. In the Inter. Girls 3000m Fionnuala Ross ran a great race to come home in the silver medal position. Kevin and Fionnuala will now represent the College at the All-Ireland finals in Tullamore.

Congratulations to Christopher Lockhart who finished 5th in the 800m and Megan Bothwell who finished 8th in the 1500m.

ICD students shine at E District Championships

Well done to all the students who participated at the recent championships in the Antrim Forum. Kevin McCool won the 800m and the 1500m, Fionnuala Ross won the 1500m and the 3000m, Megan Bothwell was 3rd in the 1500m and Christopher Lockhart was 3rd in the 800m. These students will now represent the College in the Ulster Schools Finals.
