Free School Meals

We would encourage all parents whose children are eligible for free school meals to apply to the Southern Education & Library Board.  Forms are available from the college office – please phone to have one posted out to you.  Not only will your child be entitled to a meal and drink to the value of £2.40 per day, but the college will benefit financially.  Schools are given additional funding for pupils who are entitled to free school meals.  So it is worth applying, even if your child normally brings in a packed lunch.  Please phone the college office and speak to Andrea for details.

• Free school meals are available to students whose parents are in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income-Based Jobseekers’ Allowance
  • Guarantee Pension Credit
  • Income-Related Employment & Support Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit, provided they do not receive Working Tax Credit and have an annual taxable income of £16,190 or less
